W&PD Gilgit had planned to install AMI GSM/GPRS Enabled Single Phase, Three Phase Whole Current and CT Operated energy meters in different areas of Gilgit. Data center of MDC was to built at W&PD Gilgit computer center..

In order to fulfill these objectives, W&PD Gilgit placed a work order on KBK to install AMR system on turnkey basis with necessary components to build an integrated and complete AMI system in the company.

Total 7,859 smart meters were supplied and installed as billing meters at W&PD Gilgit jurisdiction under this project. With such a vast and tough area to cover, KBK managed to complete the installation of meters including the supply, installation and commissioning of the system within project timelines. After installation and commissioning, a comprehensive training session was conducted for W&PD Gilgit Officials.

KBK will provide O&M services for 3 years against this project. Project was completed in 2021.
